Children
- Since 1 November 2022 both parents must register their consent at a passport office (police in Norway or a mission abroad), either for one application or permanently until the child turns 18. With permanent consent, one parent can attend.
- Bring the child's passport (valid or expired up to 3 months) and the parents' valid ID; foreign ID needs a legalised copy shown with the original.
- Biometrics: photo under 10; photo and signature aged 10–12; photo, fingerprints and signature over 12.

Booking, fees and collection
- Book by email at consular.hanoi@mfa.no. The consular section receives appointments on Monday and Tuesday, 9:00–11:00.
- You collect the new passport in person, by appointment, at the Embassy in Hanoi or the consulate in Ho Chi Minh City; parents collect children's passports.
- Hand in your old passport. If it holds a valid visa, the other pages are cancelled and you keep the passport.
